A Rewarding Sportive With Challenges For Riders of all Levels
This sportive was our first and we’ve branched out a lot since then, but this ride will always be special to us. This year we’ve done a lot of work tweaking the route. This ride reflects that and it’s 10th birthday should make for the most enjoyable Hertfordshire 100 yet.
A choice of three stunning routes
100 miles
64 miles
32 miles
The Helping Rhinos Hertfordshire 100 sportive offers some of the most stunning scenery and rolling countryside roads in England. It is located just outside of London and attracts a large number of cyclists from the surrounding areas. The quiet and rural roads, along with challenging hill climbs, suit all types of riders.

The Route
The route heads out from Brookmans Park through Brickendon with rolling countryside roads that allow you to get warmed up before hitting some undulating hills that really will get you warmed up! At Dane End the long route splits east towards Bishops Stortford to take in more rolling countryside roads around Much Hadam and then heads north and back west to rejoin the medium route after a 40-mile loop. The route continues west towards Welwyn Garden City through little picturesque villages such as Ardeley and Weston before heading south back towards Tewin. All routes finish through the short sharp hills of ‘Little Switzerland’ with 6 miles left to ride, which is the sting in the tail of this unforgettable ride. Riders will be pleased to see the finish after these punishing hills and will feel great once they settle down to some refreshment at the end.
